Where Things Stand
Making steady progress
It is week one. We’re steadily setting up accounts for StW Special Purpose Research subscribers one by one. Out of 30 paid subscribers, we’ve gotten through 8 so far and will get through as many more as we can by the end of the week. I’m making the intro to our operations contact and trading contacts, trying to avoid overwhelming them as subscribers onboard.
I haven’t explicitly said this but please keep everything we do confidential for the benefit of paid subscribers. I have put a lot of work into both the ideas and finding ways to execute them, I think that this IP is valuable, it is yours now, but would get diluted if it gets out. Please help protect it. That includes everyone we’re working with to implement this strategy.
I have been flooded by emails, calls, and DMs, often with dozens coming in simultaneously that I’m struggling to respond to while I also try to keep up on the research side. Something that I hadn’t anticipated that would be helpful: I’d appreciate a little reminder that connects your chat screen name with your name and email address; while multitasking, I find myself taking time to try to reconnect those.
In terms of interest, it has been strong. We have 30 paid subscribers and lots of expressions of interest. We will close the subscriptions at 50. After that, we’ll create a waiting list in order to keep active paid subscribers at that level.
I’m of course most excited about the investment ideas to come. The scale of attractive targets has grown steadily as my research has progressed such that I’m increasingly confident that we can make this work well for everyone. I started this 90% confident in the investment and around 51-55% confident in sharing it in this format. I remain 90% on the idea (but the idea is growing bigger) and am up to 70% that this format will work.
Paid subscribers can expect to get an email from me introducing them to key contacts over the next several days. You can email me at ccdemuth@rangeleycapital.com if a particular time is optimal. Then once everyone is set up, ideas will start to flow from this site. Overall, the basket is looking better and better to me — both in terms of the value proposition and in terms of our being able to get meaningful exposure to it.
Onward.
